Wow...I was blown away by this photo of Matthew and Lizzie Sherlock, who are my great-grandparents too! I have been searching for more info. of them for quite some time, even to the extent of visiting Warrenpoint last year while we were in the UK. I left Ireland literally in tears, as my search for their house was fruitless, and all efforts to locate them thru' the Irish Census Records was fruitless too. The only real help I had was from the local Catholic Church, whose baptismal records I was able to access. That's where I discovered that my grandfather had 5 siblings....he never spoke of his Irish family or where he was from, and my parents never told us anything at all about our Irish heritage. After Matthew (Snr) 's death, they disappeared from Irish records, so I am assuming that they migrated (altho' I can find no record of their arriving here at all). My grandfather was Matthew, the third child, and born just 2 years before your Emily was born.
