Surnames: Hackett>Dolan>McGuigan.
My GG-Grandparents immigrated to the US from Ireland in 1865. I have census records and marriage record so I know they settled in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois. They had 9 children all born in Illinois. After Michael Hackett died abt.1892-1899 the family stayed with his wife Margaret (Dolan) until her death abt.1901-1909, at the request of the father before his death. Only 2 of the siblings got married ever and had children. My G-Grandfather, which had 1 child, Margaret, b: 1915 and the youngest sibling Annie which I have one son born to her and husband McHenry. Would like to find out who they immigrated here with? Did they meet in Ireland or maybe on the ship or after arriving? They must of traveled with someone? What port would they have arrived in USA? Ellis Island wasn't opened then! Please let me know if you have any leads to passenger ships from Ireland to USA in 1865. My trail has grown cold and needs a recharge!! Please e-mail me. Nora (It was rumored my GG-Grandfather may of changed last name from McGuigan to Hackett).
