I am searching for parents/siblings of Terrence McGuire b Aug 1828 in Ireland. He came to America in Feb. 1847 with his sister Isabel. He was with the family of Hugh and Biddy McQuide (McGuire?) He made his way to Bartow Co., GA married had 3 children. He died in 1855. It is told he had two brothers who came to America after him, also arrived in New York but they never saw each other again. Please email me if you know anything about this family. Terrence was my GGG Grandfather.
Thank you,
Cindy Millwood

Hi Cindy,
I do not know of Terrence or Isabel McGuire, or come across their names in my search of the McGuire family. I would appreciate any other information you may have on the McGuire Family

Dear Mr. Mcguire;

I am trying to locate any information you have for a Michael Terrence Mcguire. I will give you everything I know about this man.

He had a daughter, Margaret Mcguie, who is still living in Parkersburg, WV. Margaret married Richard W Corbitt, one of my ancestors. Richard is dead, and he was Urologist practicing in Parkersburg, WV. Margaret and Richard had eight children. I have there names.

Michael Terrence invented several items which generated significant income for Michael. I have I hunch that Michael was working for a corporation when he completed the inventions. I have no info about Michael's parents. Margaret and her parent(s?) lived in the greater Baltimore, MD region when Margaret married Richard.

( I can get a large quantity of information about Michael by talking to Margaret Corbitt. I am trying to demonstrate to Margaret that I can get considerable information about her Father, and she is not suppling the information. I will share what you send to me with the approximately thirty Corbitts who live in or near Parkersburg, WV. I am the only Corbitt in my line that is performing genelogy about the Corbitts. I have a hunch they are intimidated by "all of the how-to-perform-genealogy book reading" and "coarse attending at your local family hidstory room at the public library". Many of my living relatives are retired, and they have the time to perform genealogy.

I am working on the Corbitt line and the surname lines of all persons who married a female Corbitt. I am a professional genealogist, and I enjoy the "searching for information like what Michael invented and who he was employed by".

Probably another McGuire. My GGG arrived in NYC in 1855 when he was 8. Lived in NYC until late 1800's, then moved to upstate NY. Described himself as a capitalist.

My Terrence McGuire was older than yours, but mine might have been related. He was also from upstate NY. His son and
other relatives lived in Kingston, NY for many years. If you
have any other information about him, please contact me.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here. The Latter Day Saints have added a PILOT to their main website. It is quite good if you leave it as open as possible rather than just looking for a birth, marriage or death. Just the first and surname and County. This PILOT is found by going to the main page www.familysearch.org and in top left corner is 'search records', pull down menu click on PILOT.

www.censusfinder.com UnitedKingdom+Ireland+County, Fermanagh has an amazing amount of parish records, tithe's etc.from the early 1800's. Most websites for bmd's only have the 1864 on civil registrations.

Fermanagh is a difficult place to search.
