I am looking for any information that might be helpful in
tracing the family of Samuel Laird who married Mary Ann Travers in Scotland. She was the daughter of John Travers and Jane Ross. Samuel was the son of David Laird. His mother's name was unknown. The family moved back and forth between Ireland and Scotland, living primarily in the
County Down, and Larnackshire areas. Also interested in the McIlwain and Neilson (Nelson) families who were living in the same areas. Mary Ann Travers was born in Warrenpoint, but it is believed that the family was originally from the Yorkshire, or Lancashire area of England.
