My grandparents lived in Cork city in approx. 1920. They had a shop in Barracks Street. My grandfather (Daniel Joseph O'Halloran, known as DJ) was a sweets wholesaler. My grandmother Ellen (nee Morrison) was born on 1st April in approx 1877 in Limerick, went to school in Bruree, Co.Limerick to the national school, she said she was there the same time as Eamonn De Valera.)
The children: Eddie, Jimmy, Johanna (Sis), Susan, Daniel Joseph and Ellen (my mother born 1916) all moved to England in the late 1930's.
