I am trying to establish if my Gt Grand father's DOB Michael John BARRY. I have found a record on the LDS index for batisms 823808 but it's 16 years different i.e. 1874 from the DOB calculated from his marriage certificate which is 1858/59 as he stated he was 27 in 1885. The parents were Garrett Barry and Norry Leary and I've found out they got married in 1857 at Catholic church St Finbarrs, Inchigeelagh, Co Cork and had several other children. From these dates it would appear that Michael may be illigitimate, and therefore my understanding is that the local priest wouldn't Baptism him, so when he was sixteen he was eventually Baptised. Would the actual bapisim record in the church or the micofilm state an age when Michael was Baptised? There doesn't seem to be an online seachable Birth record to confirm this theory, does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
