I am looking for information on Ireland's involvement in the Transatlantic Cable. I believe that family were involved in that project as one son was born in Ireland in 1866 the same year that the cable was finally put down.
Any ideas? I have searched old news papers but I would like to find some records on the project.
I am basically looking for Robert Trott and perhaps his father James Walden Trott. Both were engineers. Robert Trott received a gold watch and chain at the completion of the project. James Walden Trott is an unknown but he was an engineer and a millwright.
Any help appreciated. Books? Articles? Museums?
