Surnames: Corcoran and Elliott, Co. Cork.
No Cathy, don't give up for Irish research is a challenge, a difficult one but certainly a challenge.
For Griffith's Valuation Google http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie
The first stage that I use is to try and find some commonality as to what parish the names of Corcoran and (now) Elliott appear. If both names appear in the same parish I then investigate the townlands within that parish.
I therefore looked for the parish where both names appear (that is Corcoran and Elliott) there being just one, in the Catholic Parish of Youghal where there is a David Elliott from Strand Street, Youghal, and a Richard Corcoran from Youghal Lands,Youghal,in East Cork.
The Catholic Parish of Youghal is within the Diocese of Cloyne.
Worthwhile further investigation I feel.
