Adam McConnell married Anna Walsh May 3, 1847 in Kilcock, County Kildare, Ireland. They both immediately moved to Columbus, Wisconsin where Adam died March 1, 1896. He stated he was born in County Armagh in 1823 and was the son of James McConnel, who also died in Columbus, Wisconsin. Anna Walsh stated she was from Dublin on her marriage certificate. Reverend Robert Walsh was surety. Adam had brothers: John, Andrew, James, Nevin/Nevan, and William and sisters: Elenor Clark McConnell who married Joseph Strange and Mary Jane McConnell who married George A. Allen. This entire family had moved to Columbus, Wisconsin by mid-1840s. I would like to correspond with anyone who is researching this family.

Maxwell Alexander CLARKE in 1853,
William m. Agnes ANDERSON,
Eleanor m. James KING in 1850, and
Margaret m. Alexander BROWN in 1861.
James Cromie was born c. 1835 and died 1927, and Jane Eliza Bailey was born c. 1848 and died 1888.
Their 9 children, born between 1860 and 1888 included:
Mary m. I know Annie Cromie was buried there in 1970.
If you connect to any of these people, I'd love to hear from you to compare notes. Many thanks in advance.
My grandfather was Michael Patrick Deering born in Parsontown, Kings County, Ireland in 1890. Father John and Mother Mary McGee. He came to Perth WA early 1950's and scetchy details of his past as it turns out he was lying about his age to family here. My grandmother only found out his true age when my father returned to Ireland and saw his mothers grave!
Hope this is a connection. If not good luck in your search.
I am descendants of the Walsh and Tobin Families. Both of Ireland (Tipperary and Kilkenny). I am desparately trying to make a family tree for my daughters. However, I am coming up short. My great grandfather Benjamin Walsh and my Great grandfather Alphonse Tobin immigrated to Canada sometime in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I can't seem to find anything on them from that point on...only the Canadian Side. I want to know about the Irish history.

Please help.

My Great Grandfather Jeremiah Sheehy(Sheehan after he entered the US) had several releatives named Hannah. Jeremiah and his bothers and sisters were from Dunmanway County Cork. Their parents were Timothy and Catherine Sheehy of Dunmanway. Jeremiah and Daniel left for the US between 1849 and 1865. The rest of the kids followed over the next 20 years. The Mother Catherine come over last with the youngest daughter Ella after the death of her husband in 1883.
You never know? Email me with any other info you have on Hannah Sheehan(or could it be Sheehy)?
Thanks Mark Sheehan

Searching for MICHAEL MEAGHER
Hello,
I am searching for information about my grandfather, Michael Meagher. Michael was born in or around St Patricks Day, perhaps 1910 or 1911, in we believe the Templemore area perhaps an area of Clonmore. It is said that his family or that of his friend owned a pub in the area but this is not confirmed.
During the 1930’s Michael left for England where we was married at St Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham, 1938 to Rose McCann, a Belfast woman. They had 3 sons, Michael Og. John and Charles. John is my father and has been earnestly searching for his Dad for over 50 years. During the period of the Second World War Michael joined the British Army as a Royal Artillery or Royal Enginner. Michael survived the conflict and returned home to Ireland and lived with my grandmother in Mayobridge, but soon returned to England and lived in Manchester until 1987.
Michael may have returned home to Tipperary.
If he is still alive, he would be 92 or 93 years of age.
We believe that his mother’s surname was Stapleton although this is not yet confirmed.
We have one photo of Michael with his best friend Joseph Lonergan of Clonmore, Templemore.
We would be deeply obliged for any information that anyone Indeed, if you have knowledge of the Townland, Barony in which he came from that would be most helpful.
MCKEE, JOHNSTON, TAGGERT/TAGGART, CATHERWOOD

My great grandparents were Joseph McKee, born 1857 Ireland. He married Eliza Taggert/Taggart who was born in 1860 in Ireland. They moved to America and settled in Queens NYC. They had sons named: Joseph A. McKee, John Francis McKee (my grandfather...born 1882), James McKee, and Hugh McKee. They had at least one daughter, named Mary. Joseph was a fireman at the Jackson Ave. firehouse in Queens.

My other great grands were Harold Johnston married Mary Ellen Catherwood. I have no clue as to when either of them were born or where exactly. I know she was from Ireland, and he was either from Ireland or from a "little isle off Ireland" (and therefore may have had some Scots in him...according to my dad's sister). They had young Harold, Joseph, (both killed in WWI) Beatrice Mae (my grandma), Ione, Rosemary (the youngest). Mary Ellen may have had a sister named Rosemary and one named Catherine or Kate, and a brother named William. Since John Francis was born in 1882, I'm guessing Joseph was probably the first born, and may have been born as early as 1880. Again, by guessing, I'd say perhaps Harold and Mary Ellen might have married in 1878 to 1881??? Without knowing the dates of birth it's hard to say. They settled in Brooklyn, and he drove a hanson (hansom? spelling?) cab for a living.

I have been trying to trace them for 25 years, to no avail..hit a solid brick wall! Even the NYC fire department's archive dept. has no record of Joseph McKee's employment with them! I'm beginning to think they were in the forerunner of the witness protection plan! Or else they're just a figment of their children's imaginations?

Family rumors had it that at one point someone in our family (I believe on the McKee side) owned half of County Cork. Of course, they also claimed that our Joseph A. McKee was once acting mayor and grand marshall of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...not so...THAT Joseph McKee was Joseph V. McKee. My father, who died in 1959, once claimed that the founding father of Mckeesport PA was related to his family, but the founder was David McKee, and David was not a name used by anyone in our family (John, James, Joseph and Hugh and Francis were the common male names). I rather doubt that David Mckee was related, unless it was one very extremely distant cousin of the great grands. Anyway, if any of these names sound familiar, please, email me at ouizee47@hotmail.com Thanks

She thinks this because she & her sibling were left in an orphanage---& when he came back he had changed his name & married another woman!
My maternal grandmother was Christina who was married to Sophus Waldemere Christensen from Copenhagen, Denmark. He later changed his name to Walter Christman.

Perhaps you could give me more of your info, & just maybe we could find a connection---maybe a brother or something.
Thanks!
I am searching for anything I can find on my greatgrandmother MARGARET CULLEN born 1829 in CORK. Where in Cork, I do not know. MARGARET'S Mother was MARY O'BRIEN and her father was MICHAEL CULLEN. There was a sister whose name was most probably ELIZA or ELIZABETH. MARGARET CULLEN emigrated to Canada in the mid 1840's and settled in the Niagara Falls area. In 1867 she married a man by the name of WILLIAM CONNELLY/CONLY also born in Cork , in 1829. His father's name was JAMES CONNELLY and his mother was ANNE.
WILLIAM and MARGARET were married in what is now "Our Lady of Peace" Roman Catholic Church in Chippawa, Ontario. I probably have been looking in all of the wrong places but it is so very hard to find Irish records, especially when the names are so common. JAMES CONNELLY had a cousin that was a Captain in the Buffalo, New York police dept. JAMES died in 1884 in an accident in a barrel factory in the Buffalo area.

Donna
in Canada

I managed to get his militry records and have found out he was born in the city of Dublin in 1918, his father was EDWARD MOONEY and mother JANE nee McDONAGH. that is as much as I know so far. I estimate the parents were born at the end of the 19th Century. Any connections out there???????

I have no idea where my Collins' are from - maybe England. My grandfather's real name was Reddick. When his parents died, his aunt and uncle Collins raised him. He's from NY. His Reddicks came to Canada before coming to the US and before Canada from Scotland. Any information on the Collins' from St. Lawrence County, NY, would be most appreciated.

He is descended from Phillip Mooney through Robert Henry & Mary Ellen (unknown) Mooney, then Henry Albert and Rebecca Noles Mooney, then Nunnally Hulette and Irene Kirk Mooney, all deceased at this writing. Most of the family is from Heard County Georgia, with the older generations coming from SC, NC, VA and Ireland. Also, you might check out the genealogy of the Mooney Aircraft families.

He was born May 15 1858 Pittsylvania County VA.
1910 Census shows family living in Newport News City, 1920 married but living as a loger in Portsmouth. he was shown as a Ship Fitter in the naval yard, 1930 still shown as a loger in Portsmouth and a watchman for the rail road. Died?

His wife Martha Ella Motley was b Mar 26 1866 in VA and died Oct 10 1915 See is buried in Leemont Cemetery in Danville. She was living in Callands according to the 1880 Census.

Here are the children I show: Etheul, Willie Leonard, Blanche, Essie, Cleveland Jennings, Oscar E, David Errett, Sallin E ?
( I thought Sallin if spelt correctly died before 1910- I show her death as Oct 23 1897)

Cleveland Jennings married Julia Kestler Mar 14 1917 in Charleston County, SC They had three children: Walter L, Cleveland Jennings II, Norma Carolyn.

Please email me at bradner@aztec-net.com and we can exchage more details.
