I am trying to find members or information about/of my Granddad's family. My Granddad, William Whelan (later changed to Bill Curtis), was born in 1927 somewhere in Carlow, I believe. He was the youngest in his family and had two brothers, Paddy and Jim, and a sister Celia. We believe Celia was possibly the eldest in the family.

The first picture attached shows my Great Grandparents with Celia and Paddy (I believe). The second picture shows all 4 siblings.

I know my Great Grandfather William Whelan went to America sometime after 1927. He died in America (possibly Chicago) in a bar fight, from what we have been told. We also believe he had a second family with another Irish woman, who returned to Ireland, possibly to Carlow, after his death, but I have no information about her, or whether they had children together.

My Granddad, at some point changed his name to Bill Curtis. I know he got married and had a daughter and after his first marriage broke up, he then met my Grandmother.

Ideally, I'd like to find out more information about my Great Grandfather and whether he had more children with this other woman.
