Looking for any information about Jane Greer (maybe spelt Grier, Greir, Grayer) who was working as a child's maid in Armagh in 1837. She was 15 years old when tried on 24 June 1837 according to her convict indent.
Jane was accused of stealing a sheet, tried, found guilty (of course), held in Co Armagh gaol till she was transported onboard Sir Charles Forbes in 1837 bound for the Colony of NSW.
It is possible Jane's mother's Christian name was Martha.
It is believed Jane was born in Scotland.
The only other information we have is that Jane had a cousin named Samuel Moffat who was living in Co Down in 1835. It is possible that Samuel Moffat was born in Ayrshire in Scotland.
Am looking for any information that may assist in breaking down this brick wall
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
