On 23 June 1837 Jane Elizabeth Greer, said to be 15 years old, was tried and convicted at Armagh and held in Armagh Co. gaol till being sent to Dublin for transportation to the Colony of New South Wales on 'Sir Charles Forbes' which arrived in Sydney, New South Wales on 25 Dec 1837.
According to convict records Jane was born in Scotland and was working as a childs maid in Armagh Co. when arrested for stealing a sheet.
I am looking for any further information about Jane and her life and parents prior to her conviction and transportation to the Colony. There are numerour records available for convicts in NSW but her life prior to being a convict is a total mystery.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
