I wonder if some kind soul could help me to overcome the brick wall I have been staring at for some time now. I am looking for my 3rd great grandfather, Robert Adgey. He was born in Ireland around 1812 - 1815. He moved to Liverpool and was married there in 1851.

I know that there are Adgey's from the Killead area of Antrim, but cannot prove any connection to my Robert. I am now working on the assumption that somehow he is related to the "Irish Adgeys" and that he came over - alone - to England when he was a young man. It seems that he is the only Adgey in Liverpool in 1851 (excluding his wife and child), so he must have come from somewhere!

I would sincerely appreciate any help or advice as to how I can either find his birth record or somehow find a connection to an Adgey family in Ireland.
