Griffith's Valuation for Kells, Connor Parish 1861 listed John Lynn in Ballee townland. Many O'Neills were listed in Broughshane, Racavan Parish. There were also O'Neills in Kells including Ballee which lies about 4 miles from Ballymena. Matthew Lynn was a famous Covenanting minister originally from Larne who began as an assistant to Rev. William Martin. Lynn graduated from Glasgow in 1760.
