There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many Alexander Buchanans.

Does anyone have any definitive data about the Alexander Buchanan born in Scotland in 1752?

I am descended through his son, John Benjamin Buchanan, down through William Alexander Buchanan, married to Mahala Hodgerson. Wm Alexander remarried, and died in Kansas. Alexander of 1752 died on the Vermillion River in Ohio between 1824 and 1827.

Can ANYONE clarify any of this? I'm SO frustrated!
