My grandfather & his sisters were supposedly born in India c 1880-1890. Their father was reported as being an officer in India. His name has been given on a number of documents by his children as "Roundolph" and his wife as Phyllis Carlisle. I have had no luck in tracing either of them until today when I searched on FMP (it's their free weekend) and came upon an Army listing for Lt Col R S Moseley in the category "Military, armed forces & conflict. Google gave me 2 hits that Lt Col Moseley "served in China and was present in the engagement of the 8th January, 1859 when the battery and village of Shek-tsing were captured".
I have looked on the archives site - no luck there. Can anyone help me find more information about Lt Col RS Moseley, his given name would be a good start.
There is also anecdotal evidence from two parts of the wider family that have nothing to do with each other that there could be a connection to Oswald Mosley.
TIA, Glenys
