This is probably old if not ancient hat now but I've only just started on family history. I'd noticed "MI" in "Visitation...", too, and wondered.

According to "British History Online" a meaning is "Monumental Inscription" and this fits in with the occurrences of "MI" in "Visitation...", ie only but not always where burial information is given.

Plausible?
