Alice Baxter (1881 - 1963)
Francis Beaumont (1871 - 1915)

I am having great problems tracing either of these two, they are my wife's grandparents. My starting points are their deaths which I have from BMD, which give age and hence birth date.

The only positive sightings I have found are of them in Portsmouth in 1911, and in Arbroath Scotland census 1901 with their baby son Louis Leonard Beaumont just born.

There is a tempting tidbit on Louis Leonard birth record (attached) on ScotlandsPeople site, it states "date and place of mother's marriage" as "Alice Beaumont, previously Ms Baxter, married March 31st 1898, Wortley, York, England".

Unfortunately I have searched BMD both free and on ancester and findmypast but cannot find any reference to this marriage, and haven't been able to find any promising sightings of Francis in earlier census. I *think* Alice is the one shown on the 1881 census 1 month old in Newball, Lincolnshire, England.

Any suggestions as to where to go to find their marriage?
