I cant sleep so thought Id have a poke around for possible siblings of John whilst sipping my hot chocolate and thought these might be of interest - all at Newton on Ouse with the father named as John:

Joseph Reed - 23 Oct 1785 (born 11 Oct 1785)
Elizabeth Reed - 29 Apr 1787 (born 26 Apr 1787)
Humphrey Reed - 18 Dec 1789 (born 15 Dec 1789) (possibly Anthony - very hard to read)
Benjamin Reed - 26 Nov 1791 (born 13 Nov 1791)
Mary Reed - 07 Apr 1792 (born 28 Jan 1792)

John Reed appears to be the last child & was born 31 Jul 1794 and baptised 24 Nov.

In the same year there is a burial on 27 Feb 1794 for a John Reed who died 25 Feb 1794, quite likely his father.

By no means conclusive but the age is right and the names Mary, Benjamin & Joseph are repeated in the family in York.
