I have been looking for my GGGrandfathers family for 6 years and no Luck. all my info is hand me down but would appreciate any help....
John Sanderson was supposed to have been born in Pickering Yorkshire co England 6 May 1793 or 1795.
there is also a mention of shiffeld england. He enlisted in
English Military(which one is unknown) when he was 18
and served under Loard Moore and Wellington against
Naopleon in Portugal / Frances 3 or 4 years before Waterloo
He was promoted to Sergeant and was send to Canada
to fight against the US in teh War of 1812 and was discharged
In Toronto Canada in 1817. He was supposed to be on the way to Boston with another soldier and was attacked by him
and left for dead but was found by a farmer Staunton Covey
which he worked for as a indentured worker for 7 years then
7 Sep 1823 he Married Clarissa Covey dau of Staunton covey
at Antwerp Jefferson Co New York Her MOther was from a McIntost and Cannon Marriage / they had 10 children
James, Nancy, Sara Ann, cyrus Cannon, Henry, Mary alsina, Orasmus Almarion, Laura Ann, Frederick M, and Francis M they moved to Hillsdale co Michigan in 1850 he died 16 Sep 1861or 10 Oct 1861 (two different sources)
he use to tell tales that his family lived in a Castle and were
Silversmiths. (Could this Castle be the Sanderson Castle-Where is this castle located?
