I'm seeking descendants or information on the DAFFORN and SMITH families of Warwickshire. My 3X great-grandparents were: William Dafforn and Maria Smith. They had two daughters, Emila and Ann Elizabeth (Lizzie). They left England for Canada in 1842. After her parents' deaths Lizzie (my 2x great-grandmother) went back to England to stay with family for a couple of years. Her parents died in 1879 in Paris, Ontario. She went back to Englan around 1880 and stayed until June 1882. She stayed with an Aunt and Uncle in, I believe, Leamington. I have read her 1882 diary and she mentions a lot of cousins, aunts uncles and friends by name. She mentions her cousin George Smith a lot - I think he lived in Birmingham.

If you are descended from one of these families I would love to hear from you and share information. I am in Ontario, Canada. Also, my grandmother has a photo/portrait album given to Lizzie by her cousin George Smith - we cannot identify all of the portraits it contains. If you think you may be related, please contact me and I can send scans to hopefully be identified.
