It would be nice to think all the Daniel shoemakers had a link apart from their trade so if you do go to Stafford and find a link, please let me know. The William Salt Library librarians are very helpful (you go round the back, not to the front door) but on the visit I paid to them they didn't have the record I needed. They did give me helpful tips which I may follow up if in that area again.
