If there is anyone going to the record office in Stafford, would it be possible to look up a baptism?
I know a William Price was baptised in Colwich 9th January 1820 (also George Price bapt 7th Jan 1818), parents William and Sarah - I'd like to know the father's profession if it was recorded. I'm trying to rule him out as my 3x g grandfather.
I have conflicting evidence - on most of the censuses my William Price gave his birth place as Birmingham, but on the 1861 census it was given as Little Haywood Staffs, and on the 1871 it was given as Colwich, and his mother Sarah was living with them in 1871. His father William's occupation on his marriage cert is 'glass blower', which is the same as the fathers occupation given for a William Price (bapt 26/08/1822 born 1820 to William and Sarah) at St Phillips. The one at St Phillips was bapt with a brother Elijah, and my William has a son called Elijah, all of which makes me think he's the St Phillips one... but the Colwich stuff is still preying on my mind! Help!
