You can search the burial registers for Longton Cemetery upto 1969 at Stoke Archives (no index, as has been mentioned already).
Once the burial entry has been found, I used to contact Carmountside Cemetery who would advise where exactly the grave was located withing the particular cemetery.
Unfortunately as at 1st April, they have started charging for this service (c£20 per grave). However I phoned to complain last week and spoke to a lady who disagreed with the charges, especially when I had already done the hard work by locating the burial within the burial registers. She offered to look up the location for free if I phoned back and asked for her specifically - worth a try!!
