I'm looking for any info on the Targett family from Evercreech in Somerset. Stephen Targett (my g-g-grandfather) was born in 1830 to John and Letitia Webb. Johns father was James born 1773 and married to Anne Reakes. James' father was Sam and his wife was sarah Barnett. Any info on any of these persons and their descendants would be appreciated.

stephen target is my ggg grandfather too! he married a louisa lansdown in1845 in evercreech. His father was james target and his father was samuel target who married sarah barnet in 1769. i believe his father was also samuel born evercreech 1691. Sarah Barnet's father was stacey born1690 and the wife was Mary Norton born 1692, her parents were John Norton and Mary ?.
Going back to Stephen I decend from his daughter Emma target who married William John Cox and fortunately when my grandmother was alive she would tell me much about them. I have their original marriage certificate and an early photo of her and this was the start of my interest in my family at the age of 11. I have though only started looking into expanding my knowledge in the last year, what would we do without computers!. Most of my ancestors come from Evercreech which is lucky as the records are quite extensive. I am only an amateur at this but if I have given you any extra info I will be trilled, please send me back and let me know.

Have extensive research on Target(t) in Somerset. I have the Cox family (Emma and William) but only up to 1891. Would love to fill in later line.
William/John 1879, Frederick 1880, Mabel 1882, Nellie M. 1884 Beatrice 1885, Elsie 1888 and Daisy 1895 all Evercreech.

Just thought I would reply to your msg because of your name, being the same as mine is now. My ggggrandfather was John Targett 1801 - 1875 m. Lydia 1815 - 1870.
My line of ancestors are: John, Stephen, Theodore, Lindon, Greyham then me; Janet nee Targett.

Ann Target is my 5 x gt grandmother - she married William Evile in Stourton, Wiltshire 6.4.1777 - her parents were John Target and Sarah Edwards. Have you come across this family in your travels? Any info would be greatfully received. Carole
