My Henry Targett was the son of Stephen and Louisa Targett. He married my great great aunt, Mary Ann Pittard, in Evercreech, Somerset, in 1867.

Henry's father was Stephen born 1819 in Evercreech, Somerset.
Stephen's father was James born 1773 in Evercreech.
James' father was Samuel born 1731 in Evercreech.
Samuel's father also was named Samuel and born in 1695 in Staunton, Wiltshire.
Samuel's father was Christopher born 1670 in Staunton, Wiltshire.
Christopher's father also was Christopher born 1642 in Horsington, Somerset.
And "Sibball" was born 1620 in Somerset.

I know one Stephen Targett was a convict and sent to Australia and his son, James?, was also a convict and sent to Tasmania. However, pleased to say this was not my Stephen (although I do have one felon in the family already)

My Henry and Mary Ann went to Canada and after Henry died I found Mary Ann and her son William in Los Angeles.

Hi I have numerous Cox ancestors from Evercreech and surrounding areas. Thomas Cox (bc1760) and Anna Talley, Thomas Cox (bap 1785) and Jane Rossiter found at least 4 children from this marriage.One of them John Cox b1808 married Ann Clarke 1828. From this marriage at least 6 children one being John Cox born 1840 who married Emily Clavey. Other surnames linked to the Cox are George, Edwards, Cooke. Have hit a brickwall as I cannot trace Thomas Cox bc1760 parents. Does any of the above fit in with your Cox family from Evercreech. Margaret
