Re: George Dando & Elizabeth Bridges - Farmborough, Somerset
Hi Nigel,
Sorry for the delay. I usally only get the chance to work on family history at weekends.
I have the same info. that you received from Ian but can add some further family for you.
Wallace had a second name "Frank" as on the marriage entry for your dad. Your dad was married in Farmborough Church on the 22 March 1941.Your mother's father was Earnest James Reeves.
Wallace Frank married Winifred Randall at St Augustines Church, Clutton in 1903. He died 22/01/1961 and was buried in Farmborough churchyard on 25/01/1961.There is a gravestone and his wife is given as Tydfil Bridges - she was buried 16/11/1974 aged 94.
Wallace was one of the children of William and Sarah Bridges who were married in Twerton, St. Michael in 1860.
William was the son of John Bridges and Christiana - they were married in High Littleton 03/08/1823.
Have a look at the Bridges in Somerset Coalfield Connections
on the web. Use the Index to get to the Bridges. You'll find individual family histories including a lot of the census entries. Good hunting.
By the way I live in South Wales and am descende from Elijah Bridges who came over in 1860's but was born in Farmborough.
Let me know if you need further info.
Best regards, David.
