Would any lister have any information on this marriage in Bedminster, April 1892 between Alfred William Toose and Amorah Risdon.
I am unable to trace any offspring or death notice of Amorah.
I do know that Alfred re-married in Pontypool, Wales in 1897.

Any help would be appreciated

Elizabeth May Toose 1892 Bedminster 5c 667 Dec quarter
Frederick Norman Toose 1894 Bedminster 5c 680 June Quarter
This may be two of their children.
Picked this up may be another line of thought that a family emigrated with the Name Toose to Wellington New Zealand.

It is details of his bride Amorah Risdon in 1892 that seem to be illusive, apart from the wedding certificate.

Thank you for your help Christine. The children that you mention are listed on the 1901 cencus to a William and Elizabeth Toose. Their entry is a mistaken T and the name is listed as Loose.

It is further information on Amorah Risdon, Alfreds first wife that seems to be a bit elusive.

Thank you Bob, I too have found this, but I was looking for more information on the name Amorah and the Risdon clan.
I know her father was Edward Risdon and his occupation was Labourer, according to the marriage certificate, but it does not state whether he is deceased or not. Would the name Amorah be shortened or maybe replaced by a pet name since I cannot find this family in any of the Cencus records.
Any thoughts?

How old was she on the cert in 1892 ?
How old was Alfred in 1892 ?

Hello Douglas - have been following this with a little interest although I am not connected to this family.

Just a little off the wall thought - have you thought it might be a version of Honorah?

There is an Edward RISDON, labourer, in Bristol at about the right time with a daughter Honorah (Norah). Not sure the age would be right as she seems to have been born around 1877 but might be worth a thought.

Thank you Patsy. I had never heard of the christian name Amorah before and could not trace backwards or forwards, so I felt sure that there must have been a pet name.
At the time of her marriage she was 26 so she would have been born around 1866.
Alfred re-married in 1897 so I presume that Amorah had died within that 5 year period but I don't know and Freecen hasn't come up with anything.
