A good friend of mine has started a family tree and has found out that paternal father was adopted aged 3 months in the Middlebrough area in 1949.
Maternal mother was not on the Birth Certificate, but Grandmother was.It is assumed that the mother may have been under age or out of wedlock.
The only rumours are the family are well known in the 1910's - 1950's around the Middlesbrough area and this may have been an indication of the reason Adoption was made although this is unsure.

Does anyone have any idea how to obtain any information regarding Adoption Records in the area and how to peruse them?
If the real mother is found , then the father may be found or known.
