Hi am interested in finding any parish records for Sylvester Stover also known as Stafford. It is believed he was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England about 1625/28. His story as the family has been taught is that he was a small child when the ship he was on sank off the coast of Maine, USA. He was taken in by Captain John Stover who was believed to be a relative. Papers found on him suggested he was a Stafford of England. He returned to Maine in 1649 as Sylvester Stover and is the progenitor of a large family here. He returned aboard a vessel named the Banks Mss.
