My husband's grandfather, Arthur Robert Clark, was born Born at 5 Newthorpe St., Exchange District, Town of Nottingham, England. Birth registered July 10, 1876; Register Book of Birth #23, entry #67. The birth record lists his parents as Robert Clark and Emily Lightfoot. Arthur was the eldest son according to family lore so we believe that his parents were probably married a few years prior to his birth. We do not have an exact date so I wonder if someone could check marriage indexes (if they exist) for a marriage of Robert Clark and Emily Lightfoot from about 1870-1876.
