I was fortunate to find your listing on the Ancestry Message Board and thought that I would write to you as I have been researching the Truswell Family History in Australia for the past 10years.

My ancestors seemed to be around the Sutton on Trent area in Nottingham, England

My Greatgrandfather's name was Israel and came to Australia during the Goldrush in 1852. He settled in Ballarat, in Victoria, Australia and married Sarah Farrow in 1859. Together they had 13 children.

Isrel was born in Nottingham August, 1824
Mother: Ann Turner, Born December, 1784 Nottinham England (Carlton-onTrent)
Father: Richard Truswell, Born February, 1784 Nottingham England

Wife: Sarah Farrow was born in London 1843
Mother: Rebecca Booty, Born 1815 Norwich England
Father: George Arthur Farrow, Born 1814 Norwich England

There was another member of the Truswell Family that came to Australia around the same time as my Great Grandfather, his name was Moses. I think that they were cousins, I know that they were not brothers or,should I say, that it never came up in any of the records in Australia that they were connected.

I have noted that you replied to an enquiry re Oscar Lopez which mentioned Mary Ellen Truswell, I seem to remember coming across that name myself. I will check my records to see what I come up with.

I am unsure about what informaton you have on the TruswellI Family but it seems that you have gone back quite a ways. I would certainly be delighted to hear fom you with the view of exchanging information.
