I am trying to trace the birth certificates of Agnes Florence Brown and Fred Brown. I know they were both in the Byfield area of Northamptonshire in 1901. Fred Brown is listed on the 1901 census as being eight years of age and having been born in Uppingham, Rutland. Agnes Florence Brown gave her birth year as 1883 when she was in the Daventry Union Workhouse in 1901 but later documents would place her birth year as 1885. I can find no trace of either birth certificate, is it possible that neither was registered? If so does anyone have any ideas on how I might take my research further? I know their father was William George Brown and that he married Sarah Eyles in 1896 but I have no information on their mother. PLease can anyone help?
