I'm also descended from Brookes Wright, bap 1 May 1709, married Ann Worley through his eldest son John, bap 10 Jan 173. He married Abigail Goodman 8 May 1750 and their daughter Ann, bap 14 Oct 1753 married Jonathan Blencowe, a widower, 11 Apr 1774. The name Brookes does seem to crop up a lot in the Wrights of Brington - does anyone know anything about the reason for this? I've got 5 Brookes in my tree, the earliest baptised 1633.

Also, do you all know about The List of Families in Brington for use of Viscountess Althorp - it dates to Jan 1780, and through this I discovered that Ann, 27, spins and is a drunken and scold! I've just realised to my horror that on my tree (Pearson/Pigg) I haven't listed the source for this information - have to go back through my disorderly notes. All the families in Brington at the time are listed.

Another wonderful source of info was Aspects of Brington by Dr Stephen Mattingly. Blast - just checked on amazon.co.uk and it's currently unavailable, but if you google it then some sellers have it 2nd hand. I've found it invaluable. Anyway, I've saved some relevant info from the book onto my tree as stories. There are also some interesting snippits from early wills - looks like the Wrights were flamboyant characters.
