I am Looking for information on the Parentage / Ancestors of Sarah Palmer b 1697 who married John Motsum ( Moxon) in 1718 in Great. Yarmouth. John Motsum may have originated from Hull, but other sources say he was born in Great Yarmouth about 1689, where he and his wife Sarah Palmer's son John Moxon was baptized on 21st July 1720. John Motsum was the son of John Moxon b 1660 and Ann Fish b 1663. The Name Motsum is as recorded on the marriage record in 1718 to Sarah Palmer. The family later settled on the name Moxon which was also previously recorded as Moxson.
Apparently - from what I have read the Palmer family had lots of land in Yarmouth and several of the Palmers became Mayors of the Borough of Great Yarmouth BUT this still does give me any information on Sarah Palmers Parentage .Her Family crest hangs on the wall of the Plymouth library with the rest of The family crests including Barker, Moxon, Drake and Penrose. I had heard that this family line had died out in Yarmouth itself - but I am unsure if this is 100% true ? However there must be someone out there that has information on this particular family.
