I wonder if anyone has access to marriage records for the Bellingham area. I am trying to find the marriage of my great grandparents, William Johnson, miner, b Catton c 1843 and Jane Graham, b Roadhead, Cumberland 1844.
Info available on the LDS website records a marriage at Corenside on 14 March 1870 but indicates that Jane's father's name was John, which does not actually fit. The GRO reference records the marriage in Bellingham 1870 Q1(I assume that Corenside Parish is within the Bellingham Registration District)
My particular interest in finding out the occupation of Jane's father, as I believe (or should that be hope???) that the first name may have been wrongly recorded. William's father was John, but Jane's was Jared who was a tailor. All my other research leads me to the belief that this is the marriage I am looking for, and if the register records the bride's father as being a tailor I would accept that as sufficient proof (I have had other examples of incorrectly recorded names on records from this period)
I will be unable to travel to the Northumberland archive for several months to check their records for myself, and don't want to send for the GRO certificate if this is obviously not the one I am looking for.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
Trevor Johnson
