I am seeking information about my grandmother's family, the Grieves, who are descended from William Usher Grieves, b.1790 in Tynemouth. William's son, John Grieves b. 1821 married Isabella Jewells b.1821 in South Shields, 1838. Their daughter, Isabella Grieves b.1841 had a son, David b. 1864, who married Isabella Ridley b.1869 and the couple were living in Tanfield, Co. Durham in 1891. David was an engine driver and spent long periods of time in India before his death. He and Isabella had the following children: Hope, Bindon, Jessie, Joseph, Hector and my grandmother, Margaret.

Hope to make contact with present day relatives who know more about the period when the family were living between India and the UK.
