Not good news I'm afraid. My wife and I went up to Felton this afternoon and visited both the Parish Church graveyard and the more recent Council one [the United Reform church didn't have one]. The Council one had nothing earlier than 1894. The Parish Church graveyard was quite overgrown in places with a number gravestones broken and/or eroded but it did have quite a number of gravestones which were still readable. We couldn't find a single one for FERGUSON.
There are a number of gravestones which are not readable any more and I wonder if there is a list of monumental inscriptions for the graveyard? The Church Wardens are Anthea Smith [787351] and John Marshall [787188].
Of course, I've assumed these people were Anglican and not Roman Catholic......
