I have a marriage cert for 'Edward L Scott formerly known as Riddle' marrying a Helen Hunter in 1953 Westminster. Can anyone suggest why he would be 'formerly known as' His father is registered as John Inkerman Riddle a C.O. in the Royal Navy (of which I can find no trace). Does anyone think this all sounds very fishy??
