Ambridge or Wise

Classification: Query
Surnames: Ambridge, Wise
The two families seem to be connected but I am confused as to how. I just wondered if anyone could claim the Ambridge family I might be able to eliminate them.

My great great grandfather was Francis Charles Wise, born 1835. His father was John Wise and his mother Martha. He was the last of six children and on the baptism certificates his father is either a clerk or a corn chandler. His eldest sister, Eliza (b. 1822) married twice and on her second marriage certificate her father is described as John Ambridge Wyse, a corn dealer. One of Francis brother's, the nearest in age, born 1833 was Edward Martin.

In the 1851 census Francis and Martin are living with John and Martha Ambridge, he is a retired druggist. (There is family lore from my father that the family originated from two brothers who had a chemist shop near KIngs Cross). In 1871 Martha Ambridge is a widow, living with a son John Wise (who I have not traced at all) and Martin Wise (a warehouseman).

In 1841 Census John and Martha Ambridge are with their daughter Emma Ambridge, born 1815. I then decided to look for another family. John and Martha Ambridge had eight children born between 1811 and 1820 (one of whom was Emma). On all their birth certificates he is described as a druggist or chemist. I then decided this was a different family but in 1841 he is down as a corn dealer.

Could this possibly be the same family? Where were all the Wise family in 1841. Eliza had married. Henry is an apprentice living with his master, could not find Louisa or William (there are possibilities that William was a pupil at a school). Francis Charles Wise, aged 6 is living with a family in Kingston.

If anyone has any clues which might unravel this I should be so pleased.
