I'm wanting to find out the parents of my great-grandfather, John Harris (b: ? - d: 1932). His wife was Annie Minnie Jessie Hale (b: 1901, Hackney, London - d: ?) and they had one child, John George Harris (1924, Shoreditch, London - 1996, Huddersfield, Yorkshire).

I've heard that Harris is a surname that Jews would adopt when arriving in Britain. Annie left John a year before he died (he was in his 50s or 60s when he died) and Annie was known to have an aversion to anything Jewish (maybe she started having these feelings after she left John?).

I'm not saying that this is definite, but this is just a possibility. If anyone could find out his parents, Jewish or not, it would be greatly appreciated.
