This may be a long shot but could be worth a look, in 1911 there are in all 12 Crossland's living in Mossle y Ashton Under Lyne, Three young sisters among them that could have had a child in 1929
Christina born 1910..not sure what happened to her
Ellen born 1903 Ellen dies in 1932 so could be why child adopted
Lena born 1896 Married Ruben Jones
