Hi,
We are seeking information on my wife's great grandfather, William Henry West. No one knows a lot about him, as he was a private individual, and did not share with his wife about his parents (
Noah William Henry West and Adelina Cousens) and siblings. Shortly after the birth of his 4th child in 1920, William left his wife, Maria Hilda Whitehead and 4 children and never returned. There is a rumour that he returned to his birthplace, Manchester, but this is unproven. Found a man of the same name passing away in Manchester in 1941, but do not know if this would be him. As per 1891 Census, he was living with his grandparents, William and Sophia Cousens in Liverpool. In 1901 Census, he was living with his First Cousin, once removed, William Kettlewell in Thirsk, Yorkshire. In 1911, he was living in Heslington, Yorkshire, with his future wife's family, Whiteheads. He was enlisted in British Army during WW1. He served with West Yorkshire Regiment, Rank was corporal. Regiment #1081 605481. Any further information would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul Wilson
