I am looking for information on the family and birthplace of Josiah Dobson, born 5 Dec,1834. US Civil War records indicate that he claimed to be born in Hatton, LANCASHIRE,England. I have been unable to find a Hatton, Lancashire. The nearest I have found is Hatton, Cheshire, England. I currently have been considering Halton, Lancashire as a possibility. Any help in clearing up the place of birth and or the family ancestors and descendants would be greatly appreciated.
