My grandmother was Phyllis Spencer, Her mother was Sarah Ellen Chandler born 1887 in Salford, its Sarah Ellens parents Margaret Alice (nee Latimer) and Patrick Chandler that I'm trying to trace. The only other information I have is that Sarah Ellen was born in a workhouse but the archives department told me that poor people often went into the workhouse simply to have their babies as a form of maternity care. There are no records of her as an inmate. Patricks occupation is given as a journeyman bricklayer.
