I think its a possibility as I do know my grandmother had irish roots somewhere down the line (though I dont know how far). I only received the marriage certificate for Sarah Ellen when I got home last night but although her birth certificate lists her father as Patrick Chandler, her marriage certificate shows him as James Chandler (deceased). I've checked through the marriages for James Chandler to Margaret Latimer but still havent found anything. The only thing is, if Sarah went to Ireland with her parents and didnt return until she was 17/18, surely she would have had an irish accent - and she didnt. I also thought about the possibility they were travellers - did travellers register on the census?
