I have traced my husband's Heys family to Padiham just outside Burnley, Lancashire in 1830s.
Ormerod Heys c.1835/6 was born to Mary Heys (nee Butterworth) widow of Richard Heys. Her other children were:
Thomas Butterworth 1821/2,
James 1823/4,
Nancy 1825/6,
Richard 1827/8.
Mary remarried in 1843 Henry Robinson and by 1851 they were living at Rawtenstall.

Ormerod Heys married Alice Ann Hayhurst at Haslingdon Register Office.
Ormerod and Alice Ann's son John Ormerod Heys was born at West Hartlepool 1859/1860 (can't find his birth registration).
Their other children were:
Alice Anne 1867/68 West Hartlepool,
Frederick 1870/71 Newcastle,
Thomas Henry 1872/73 Newcastle (the only child they registered!),
Sarah 1877/78 Newcastle and
Harriet 1881 Bow in London.
The family were living at Candy Street, Bow in the 1881 census.

By 1891 Ormerod had taken his family back to Lancashire to Heywood near Rochdale where they all settled.
Frederick had married but died before the 1901 census. Thomas Henry married Polly Nuttall and had a son Robert by 1901 and Sarah and Harriett married after 1901, but as yet I don't have their married surnames.

John Ormerod Heys stayed in London and married Ann(ie) Conner in 1881 at St Johns Bethnal Green.
Their children were:
Ann(ie) 1882 - 1906
John 1883
(The above registered - but not those below!)
Thomas 1885/6,
Joseph 1887/8,
Frederick 1888/9,
Richard 1890
Alice Ann 1891/2
John Ormerod's wife Ann(ie) died in 1898 and he remarried in 1902 Emma Collard. They had a son Arthur Ernest C. Heys in 1904 (registered). John Ormerod Heys died in 1908.

Richard married Elizabeth Batchelor(Stow) at Devizes, Wiltshire at the end of WW1 and their son (my husband's father) Richard James was born in London 1919.

I would be really interested if anyone has any of the above in their family tree as we have no contact with any of his Heys relatives due to my husband's parents divorce in the 1960s.
