Marilyn - I am fairly sure it is the same lineage we are both exploring. Mary Maynard Foreman is my gt grandmother (m. Edward Bracey Stroud) & daughter of Martha A Reeves (b.1828) - from LDS website I see Martha had several siblings:- John b.1822; Stephen b.1824; George b.1826; William b.1831; Maria b.1835 - all Sandhurst by Cranbrook - parents John Reeves & Mary Maynard. Mary Maynard was b.ca.1790-1800, parents William Maynard & Hannah Erry (parents Robert Erry & Mary Ticehurst). I am not sure about John Reeves (senior) parents - maybe Samuel Reeves & Elizabeth Lambert or William Reeves & Martha ?
Perhaps you have some info on this for me ?
There are many Reeves around that time from Horsmonden, Sandhurst, Hawkhurst, Goudhurst, Staplehurst, Carnbrook, Benenden, Tenterden etc.
I have the LDS 1881 census on CDrom so could look up any members still alive & living in Kent in 1881 (e.g. Sivyers) - I had not been aware that many went to the states.
Stay in touch, it's easier to do this together than struggle alone with all the conflicting data.
Best regards, Jeremy Stroud ( a very very distant relative, I guess !)
