My Mum has told me of another orphange called Hutton Poplars, which was not far from Shenfield Railway Station. Apparently, they used to recieve a lot of orphans from the east end of London. This building is also still there, but part of a new housing estate. Re Foxcroft. It is believed that this may not have opened as an orphanage until the 1930s.
