Hi
I'm researching the Clark family from Southend on Sea. My fathers name is Anthony born 1927. His father was Sydney 1901 married to Elizabeth Goode 1903. Both families seem to be rather large. Other names in the family are Wood and Sapsford. Have you come across any of these names?
Carol .

I am a Clark living in Southend-on-Sea. I have the following family members from the 1901 census.
George Clark aged 50 born Haggerston London.Plumber living at 15 St Thomas Terrace, Milton Street Southend.
Lavinia Clark (wife) age 49 also listed as born Haggerston.
Reginald Thomas Clark age 22 bore Haggerston - known to have married Ivy Eva McGann(?) and moved to Sydney Australia.
Annie Clark age 20 born Haggerston
Nellie Clark age 14 born Walthamstow Essex
Frank Noble Clark age 9 born Walthamstow - my grandfather. He married Florence Cooper in 1914. their only child was Frank Henry Clark born 1920.

What puzzles me is I have a marriage certificate for George marrying Sabina Trotman who is listed as Frank Noble Clarks mother.

I also have short version certificates for Sidney Harold Clark and Veda Maud Clark both born around 1870's. However I have not been able to find out where they fit in.

Hi Kevin
What I have been able to find so far Sidney Thomas Francis Clark b. 1901 parents John Clark (from family talk John did come from a large family) and Catherine Neeve. I'm told they come from Mile End Old Town and Stepney area. John and Catherine had John died in ww1,Leila,Sidney and Leonard. Leila married a man called Sidney Crapper. Sidney Clark married Elizabeth Good and moved to Southend on Sea in the late 1930's. Anything connect?
Thanks
Carol

Hi Carol,
Sorry but nothing fits with what I have found so far. If it does I'll let you know. There are quite a lot of Clarks in and around Southend and they seem to have come from all over the country. The only Sidney I have found is Sidney Harold Clark, b 1885, registered in Walthamstow. Trouble is I cannot fit him in unless he died prior to 1901.
regards
Kevin

I am also looking for my Clark family from Southend on Sea. My great grandfather was Joseph Robert Clark, b. 1891 in Southend. His parents were William Clark & Emma Wall. William's occupation was a Bathing Machine Proprietor. Does anyone have them in their family tree and can give me more info?

I have a cousin Sidney Clark in my family tree, born 1901-1902 in Southchurch, Essex. His parents were James & Minnie (nee Dean) Clark. I don't have any wife or children for him. Do you think this is a connection?
